This summary includes a complex analysis of all the spheres of the Association Agreement ((hereinafter - AA), that are connected to the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (hereinafter - DCFTA), namely: technical barriers to trade, custom procedures, digital single market, financial services, public procurement market, and gas market. The main essence of the DCFTA and the AA, in general, is a unilateral regulatory approximation in exchange for economic integration. According to the AA, Ukraine is obliged to adopt and implement the acquis - EU legislative norms, rules and technical standards.
This policy paper describes the part of the Association Agreement (AA) in the sphere of technical barriers to trade. Аналітичний звіт надає інформацію щодо сфері технічних бар’єрів у торгівлі. In this part, AA foresees the perspective for concluding the Agreement on Conformity Assessment and Acceptance of Industrial Products (ACAA).
This policy paper is focused on customs procedures. Ukraine has not yet fulfilled its “homework” in this area, and accordingly cannot use the prospects offered by the AA: recognition by the EU of authorised economic operators (AEO) and joining the EU Common Transit System (NCTS).
