The analytical paper looks into the EU practice of improving the implementation of environmental policy and law as exemplified by a new tool: the Environmental Implementation Review. The tool application objectives, consequences and conclusions in relation to environmental problem areas are analyzed. The second part of the paper focuses on possible application of the EIR tool in Ukraine.
