Monitoring of the greening of the economy in frames of the implementation of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement

The issue of economy greenisation is on the agenda of many countries, and it has become even more relevant for Ukraine in the conditions of its European integration processes. The main task of this part of the Association Agreement is to overcome the asymmetric impact of economic growth on the state of the environment. Accordingly, there is a need for monitoring and evaluation of economic reform progress in individual sectors in Ukraine.

The project included a comparative analysis of European indicators with a focus on determining which of them are most adapted to Ukraine. First and foremost, the work on their improvement and implementation in various economic sectors and industries aimed at familiarizing industrialists and entrepreneurs with effective mechanisms for analysing the greenisation level of their own technological processes.

As a result, the project activities have helped government officials and the public at large be better informed about economy greenisation development. The awareness of the efficient use of natural resources as well as minimisation of waste and pollution will help renovate business models based on environmentally-friendly productive technologies.
