Public monitoring of the judicial reforms in Associated EaP countries
Centre of Policy and Legal Reform
15-03-2019 - 01-09-2019
Description of the project
The rule of law is one of the principles underlying the Association Agreement implementation. It must be supported institutionally through reforms of the judicial branch and law enforcement agencies in the Eastern Partnership countries that have chosen the way of European integration. Presently in Ukraine, the level of trust in its judicial system is 7.7%, evidencing the need to implement the judicial reform, while informing citizens about the implementation progress.
Using the Joint Staff Working Document ‘20 Deliverables for 2020’ as a guide, the project focused on monitoring and expert analysis of the judicial reforms in Ukraine, Moldova, and Georgia to demonstrate concrete results of the reforms and show the current implementation status of necessary changes in the three countries.
The project was implemented in conjunction with the DEJUR Foundation.
