The civic monitoring of the EU-Ukraine cooperation in the security area
NGO "Institute for Euro-Atlantic Cooperation"

Description of the project
The security policy is one of the Association Agreement’s areas that requires special attention in the current foreign and home political condition of Ukraine. However, the involvement of Ukraine in solving the security problem is rather low, and so is its integration into the implementation process of the joint security and defence policy of the EU. Moreover, the lack of information on how Ukraine fulfils its commitments under the joint security and defence policy does not allow analysing the status of the Association Agreement implementation and the level of approximation to Eastern Partnership Priority No. 12
The task of this project was to carry out a complex analysis of EU-Ukraine security cooperation.
This analysis will help bring the Ukrainian security policy closer to the provisions of the Association Agreement and the Eastern Partnership Deliverables for 2020.
The professionally-done expert examination and the development of the analytical report within the project framework have become a sensible contribution to the state security policy; raised the public awareness of and involvement in security issues; and allowed understanding risks and possible consequences of Ukraine’s failure to fulfil its commitments in this area.
